Pafuri Rivercamp is a rustic secluded bush camp along the banks of the Mutale River, a tributary to the Limpopo River. Located in Venda, it borders both Kruger National Park’s Pafuri Gate and Makuya Nature Reserve. Secluded camping under huge indigenous trees unspoilt bush as nature intended.

Pafuri Rivercamp offers authentic bush retreat with relaxed informal atmosphere, maximum 22 people in tented tree houses plus secluded camping. Come live in the bush for a while under majestic Baobab, Mashatu, Jackleberry, Knobthorn and Zebrawood trees. Camping is on bare ground along riverbank under huge indigenous trees, on bare ground. No power – off-grid campsite. Paraffin lights at night, bring all own lighting, gas, solar. Central lapa where one can socialise and small pub next to pool selling ice cold drinks. Splash pool, fishing, tubing and canoeing bring own gear, hiking, mountain biking, birding. Suitable for self-sufficient. Tar to entrance, internal roads gravel, 3km stoney gravel road to camp, high clearance recommended. Malaria area. Closest fuel Tshipise 100km, Masisi 25km small store, Punda Maria 80km inside Kruger. Power: no power – an off-grid campsite, paraffin lights at night, there is no electricity we use paraffin lamps for light, open fires and gas for cooking and gas powered fridges, bring all your own lighting gas solar etc, renewable energy listed.
Water: bring all own drinking water, water at the ablutions.
Ablutions: communal ablutions with hot water donkey boiler, showers basins and flushing toilets, scullery area for washing dishes at the ablutions, communal ablutions, no laundry facilities.
Braai: raised firepit on each site, bring your own stand and grid, braai area, open fires allowed.
