Mountain Sanctuary Park lies in the Magaliesberg Valley, less than two hours drive from Johannesburg northern suburbs and Midrand, approximately 1h45 from Joburg. It is a privately owned nature reserve. The reserve offers camping, log cabins and cosy huts. The campsite is rustic and makes a perfect base to explore valleys and ridges. The Pholela River bisects reserve areas nearby with rock pools and streams for hiking. There are several hikes throughout the park which are easy enough for beginners but you can use mountain bike trails if you want something more strenuous. Mountain bike trails, rock formations out of this world, swimming in rock pools, large swimming pool in resort, hiking, horse riding and trout fishing available. Spacious camping sites with lots of shade, mostly grass with some dirt, plenty of trees. Mountain Sanctuary Park just 2 hours from Johannesburg. Friendly service, hot water, clean ablutions, walking and MTB trails, swimming pool, small shop for cold drinks and ice-cream. Expect beautiful rock pools and streams. This sanctuary is set in pristine nature. Hikers must complete Mountain Rescue Register at Visitor Centre.

Power: Some sites have no electricity, others share power points, some sites have access to power points, electrical power point useful for camping. 

Water: Communal water taps. Ablutions: Communal ablution facilities, clean and serviced daily – just a basic shower, basin and toilets, ablutions are very neat and clean.

 Braai: Each site has a braai, braai facilities yes, braai area and braai utensils. 

Campsites: Large, spacious camping sites with lots of shade, plenty of trees, mostly grass with some dirt, 16+ stands. 

Other: Communal freezer available, laundry facilities available, swimming pool, small shop selling cold drinks and ice-cream, rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking permitted, bird watching, hiking trails, game drives in own vehicle.
