Die Hel Campsite – Gamkaskloof
Die Hel is located in the remote Gamkaskloof valley in the Swartberg Nature Reserve, Western Cape. Part of a declared World Heritage Site. The valley was first inhabited by farmers in 1830 and was only accessible by foot until 1962 when a road was built. CapeNature manages restored historical cottages and campsites in the valley.

🔥 Braai: Braai facilities available at campsites. No fires permitted on 4×4 route and hiking trails
🏕 Campsites: Basic campsite with 6 sites. Maximum 6 people per site

37km gravel road from Swartberg Pass turnoff. Approximately 3–4 hours travel from Oudtshoorn or Prince Albert
High clearance vehicle recommended. 4×4 or bakkie advised. Off-road trailers allowed, no caravans
No shops, restaurants, or fuel in or along the way to The Hell
Nearest towns: Prince Albert ±86km or Oudtshoorn ±100km
Office hours: 07h30–16h00. Contact reserve before 13h00 if arriving after 16h00
